All-On-4® Treatment Concept

Whether you already have a denture, or if you are seeking a denture, we can replace your teeth with a system that is permanently in place, allowing you to look, function and feel like you have your full set of natural teeth again with the All on 4™ system. At Lake Norman Oral and Facial Surgery, we can provide beauty and function in replacement of traditional dentures. Dr. Haigney, our Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, can help you have a full set of teeth in one day.

What is All on 4?

Our denture implant system, All on 4, is a way to permanently attach your denture device directly into your arch using four titanium dental implants. This means, no more glue, no loose teeth in your mouth, no caution about the foods you eat, and no removing your teeth while you sleep. Your denture is permanently in place.

To attach your denture, Dr. Haigney places four implants directly into your jawbone. This will serve as strong, secure, posts to hold your denture in place. A tooth implant is screw-shaped post that because it is made of titanium, which is biocompatible, has a unique ability to fuse to your bone through a process called osseointegration. With some healing time, your living tissues will actually create connections to the post, making it sturdy and reliable.

Who can get the All on 4 Dental Implants?

The All on 4 system has been designed for patients who have no healthy teeth remaining. This may mean that some unhealthy teeth need to be extracted in preparation for placement, which may be done at the same time. Patients may have no healthy teeth due to decay, the loss of teeth due to gum disease, other medical issues, or an impact injury. This system gives the patient natural looking permanent teeth, that will function as their original teeth did, while being sedated, in one office visit.

Is the placement of All On 4 dental implants painful?

Though the process sounds intimidating, the procedure of placing four dental implants will not be painful for the patient because they will be sedated. In most cases, the patient has no memory of the entire procedure. Your comfort is our concern, we don’t want you to be in pain. Following the placement of your implant retained denture, Dr. Haigney will prescribe pain relieving medication, to get over the hump of discomfort for the next few days. Patients will need to take caution in the foods they eat and how they use their teeth for the next few weeks following placement.

What patients love is that Implant-supported teeth look and function just like your real teeth, plus they are maintained with the same oral hygiene routine, of brushing and flossing as you always have.
